The North Carolina State Fair is the largest 11-day event in the state, drawing in more than 800,000 attendees annually. It is managed and produced by the N.C. Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services and is consistently ranked among the top 25 fairs in North America.
The Fair provides a platform for the agricultural community to showcase its crops, livestock and new technology. It also offers an opportunity for the state's ever-increasing urban population to learn about agriculture through educational and competitive exhibits in the areas of livestock, horticulture, cooking, folk art and much more. Visitors can expect to find a variety of musical acts, food vendors, games booths, carnival rides and commercial and agricultural exhibitors, with more than $600,000 in prize money awarded each year.
