Event Information
Wings Over Wairarapa will return in early, bringing spectacular action in the sky and family activities, hospitality and entertainment on the ground to Hood Airfield and festival venues. Hosted by the Wings Over Wairarapa Charitable Foundation, the event will take place from 24 to 26 February, marking the first air show in New Zealand since the pandemic began.
Contributing over $7 million to the regional economy, Wings Over Wairarapa is an iconic national event with a long history. The Trust is looking to make the festival New Zealand's premier aviation event, with plans to develop a successful STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) aviation and educational program, as well as diversify and develop new aviation and space technologies.
The Wings Over Wairarapa team welcomes new General Manager Carla Steed, Director of Cactus Events and Sponsorship, who will be continuing the many accomplishments of Jenny Gasson, who stepped down as CEO after 9 successful years. The Trust would like to give special recognition and thanks to the aviation community, event attendees and vendors for their continued commitment to the event, and looks forward to creating an event the region can be proud of, showcasing aviation and inspiring future generations.
